Milfoil

The watermilfoil is an aquatic plant native to North Africa, Asia, and Europe. Watermilfoil is a genus of approximately 69 species^[1] of aquatic plants.

The stems of water milfoil are whitish-pink to reddish-brown. They are branched and generally 6 to 9 feet long. The leaves are deeply serrated, smooth and feathery, and about 2-inches long.

The Milfoil leaves are structured in whorls of 3 to 6 leaves around the stem. The water milfoil produces small, four-petalled, reddish or white blooms on a spike that protrudes 2 to 4 inches from the water.

They are held over the water on an emergent flower stalk several inches long.
