Gardenia jasminoides, commonly known as cape jasmine or Common Gardenia, are native to Japan and southern China. The genus Gardenia is a genus of over 140 species[1] of trees and shrubs of the Rubiaceae family.
The gardenia plant is associated with deep feelings and feminine elegance. The scent of this gorgeous plant is inimitable and incredibly captivating. Gardenia seduces with its powerful jasmine aroma, tenderly refined with vanilla.
Most often, the Gardenia adorns the garden, balcony, and indoors extraordinarily.
Gardenia is a coniferous shrub with dark green, glossy, thick leaves (up to 4″ long). Usually, it grows 3 to 6” in height. The leaves are arranged in whorls or oppositely.
It is primarily known for its highly aromatic white blooms (up to 3 inches in diameter), borne in small groups or singly.
The flowers bloom year-round in warm climates where temperatures do not drop below 60°F., but most often from the end of spring to summer in cooler climates.
