The brown titi^[1] is another species of titi, a New World Monkey native to South America.

• The brown titi is a medium-sized primate with a gray to tawny coat.
• The species doesn’t exhibit sexual dimorphism; the average body and head length of males is 31.1 centimeters (12.2 in), while that of females averages 34 centimeters (13 in).
• Their fluffy tails are longer than the length of their head and body combined.
• It usually has thick fur with a back and limbs that vary in color from brownish or greyish agouti, with white ear tufts and a reddish underside.

• It was initially described in 1842 as Callicebus brunneus and transferred to the new genus Plecturocebus in 2016.
• It’s a monogamous species and lives in small groups of 2 to 7 members comprising the pair and their young.
• The species is also known for the distinctive twining of its tail when groups are sitting together.
• The Brown titi monkey can live in captivity for more than 25 years.
• When last assessed in 2020, the brown titi was listed as Vulnerable by the IUCN Red List.
