These birds are typically about 20 to 30 centimeters in length and around 50 to 135 grams in weight, with females generally smaller than males. Both sexes have relatively long straight bills, making it easy to hold and consume their food. Orioles have also been known to be peaceful and solitary, rarely social.
These birds are simply the 33 species that make up the Icterus genus of the Icteridae family.
