Clematis is an easy-care perennial covered in large, vigorous flowers in spring and summer (there are also some autumn blooms). These beautiful flowers are available in various colors, including red, white, pink, blue, purple, and bi-color.
The genus Clematis includes around 300 species[1] of flowering plants in the Ranunculaceae (buttercup) family.
Common names include Virgin’s Bower, Vase Vine, Traveller’s Joy, old man‘s Beard, and Leather Flower. Depending on the supporting structure, they can be 6 to 18 feet in length. Its geographic area ranges from North America to Europe, New Zealand, Japan, China, India, and Australia.
The flowers can stand individually or in dense clusters. The numerous fruits stand out due to their persistent styles; they appear in spherical groups.
The leaves are opposite, with single and compound stems, that is, they have several parts.
