Lesson’s saddle-back tamarin[1] (Leontocebus fuscus) is a small New-world monkey endemic to South America.
- Lesson’s saddle-back tamarin was once considered a subspecies of the brown-mantled tamarin, Leontocebus fuscicollis.
- Lesson’s saddle-back tamarins have black fur that extends from their heads to the middle of their backs, where it fades to a reddish hue.
- The hands, feet, and tail are black. They have hairless ears and whitish fur around the snout.
- Lesson’s saddleback tamarin has a head and body length of between 212 millimeters (8.3 in) and 234 millimeters (9.2 in). It weighs between 350 g (12 oz) and 400 g (14 oz).
