- Its type locality is in Colombia, on the plains of Mocoa, Putumayo, between the Caquetá River and the Putumayo River.
- Lesson’s saddle-back tamarins live in small social groups with multiple males and females of 4 to 12 members and occupy an area of 30 to 50 hectares.
- Group members usually sleep together in a group. Vine tendrils are typical resting places for these species.
- Compared to other primates, tamarins begin their daily activities late in the morning, a few minutes to an hour after sunrise.
- Humans are responsible for the decline in the number of surviving lesson’s saddle-back tamarins due to the clearing of their forest habitat.
